Cricket is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of eleven players every on a field on the centre of which is a 22-yard (20-metre) pitch with a wicket at each end, every comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The sport proceeds when a participant on the fielding team, called the bowler, "bowls" the ball from one end of the pitch in path of the wicket at the different finish, with an "over" being completed once they've legally carried out so six times. The batting aspect has one participant at every finish of the pitch, with the player on the opposite end of the pitch from the bowler aiming to strike the ball with a bat. The batting aspect scores runs both when the ball reaches the boundary of the field, or when the two batters swap ends of the pitch, which results in one run. The fielding facet's purpose is to prevent run-scoring and dismiss every batter (so they're "out", and are stated to have "lost their wicket").
